Daniel Bennett leads strong showing by JGV members at Provincial Bantam and Novice Boys and Girls Championships

With a blistering 7 under par 64 final round, JGV member Daniel Bennett ran away with the BC Bantam Boys Championship that concluded at Chemainus’ Mt. Brenton Golf Club yesterday. The field of 48 included 10 other JGV members 5 of whom finished in the top 20. On the Girls side, former Little Vike Chelsea Truong had a strong 2nd place finish.

In the Novice competition, Zach Grisdale, Ethan Zhang and William Kral, all former Little Vikes, finished 3rd, 6th and T7 respectively. On the Girls side, Sarah Kim led all JGV members with a 2nd place finish. Sisters Angela and Jennifer Zou finished 3rd and 5th respectively.

With Bennett’s victory, present and former JGV members have captured 4 of the 9 provincial Championships conducted by Golf BC this Summer. He joins Tristan Mandur (BC Men’s Amateur Champion) and Willy Bishop (BC Junior and Juvenile Champion).
