Donovan Cramb Leads Juniors in Warm Up for Provincial Championships at Morningstar.

Donovan Cramb fired a blistering 3 under par 69 to lead all players at the Junior Golf Victoria event held at Morningstar Golf Course in Parksville this past Saturday. Nanaimo’s Matthew Wilson finished second three strokes back in the Junior Boys Division with a stellar even par 72.

In the Bantam Division Hunter Auramenko from Storey Creek Golf Club and Morningstar member Manny Lalh tied for low with 3 over 75’s. Hunter’s brother Zachary was 5 shots back in third place.

Gorge Vale’s Owen Beaulac led the Peewee Division with an 82. The 10 year old was followed closely by 11 year old Ewan Baldwin of Royal Colwood who shot an 84.

Nanaimo’s Veronica Mann led the Girls with 6 over 78 followed by Victoria Golf Club’s Chelsea Truong with 80. Of special note, Nanaimo’s Schwager twins, Izzy and Maria, finished tied for third with “identical” 83’s.

Scheduled to be a warm up for the provincial Junior Boys and Girls Championships to be held at the same venue starting June 29th, the event was attended by many of the players who will contend for both the Junior Boys and Girls titles including defending BC Junior Champion, Team Canada Member and former Little Vike Willie Bishop.
